YMCA Camp Marrowbone

YMCA Camp Marrowbone provides a safe environment for kids to learn, explore, and grow. Our goal is to teach life skills through the character traits of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and traditional Lakota values. Our camp experience results in new friendships, the opportunity to try all sorts of activities, and a place to call home.

Supporting the Y means that kids can experience new environments and activities, go to camp, enjoy a warm, nutritious meal, and be encouraged by caring, sober, adult role models.

NEWS

Give to Camp

We are inspired by what Leslie Marrowbone envisioned 50 years ago on the shores of Lake Oahe. 1971 is when the Sioux YMCA made its stance to youth development with our first ever summer camp. The years have been unique, not without challenges, but with huge reward.

Thank you to all of our supporters who made the growth of camp possible. We are aiming to raise $50,000 for our campers. Here is a breakdown of what your gift can do for our youth:

$20 - Provides S.T.E.M. and craft supplies to enhance our intentional camp curriculum

$50 - Provides essentials, including sleeping bags, bedding, and toiletries

$100 - Provides 25 healthy and nutritious meals and snacks

$250 - Provides one week of transportation for campers to eliminate barriers

$500 - Scholarships a camper for an amazing week at Camp Marrowbone

$1000 - Scholarships a 2 week Teen Development Participant, includes college visits

Thank you for your support!

G.R.A.C.E. Initiative

Our YFires GRACE Initiative brings feeding and daily programming directly into communities across the reservation. Through one- and two-week sessions, dedicated volunteers travel to different locations to provide nutritious meals and lead engaging day camp activities for youth in one of the country's largest food deserts. Program participants also have the opportunity to learn traditions and history from Lakota community members and join community events like Rodeos and Powwows.

5th Tiny Home Build

We’re excited to begin construction on our 5th Tiny Home, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor. This project brings together volunteers, staff, and supporters to make a lasting impact, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Whether you have construction experience or simply a willingness to lend a hand, there’s a place for you on this build. Join us in turning this vision into reality while learning new skills, connecting with others, and supporting a project that makes a difference.
